Qigong in Bethesda
Qigong for Bethesda residents, about 5 miles away from our school in Kensington.
Looking for qigong in Bethesda? Shaolin Hung Fut Kung Fu School teaches qigong to Bethesda students of every age, about 5 miles away in Kensington — an easy trip from Bethesda Row and NIH campus. Train in person on Nicholson Court, starting with a one-hour introductory class.
Qigong is the internal, low-impact side of our traditional practice: slow controlled movement paired with deliberate breathing to build focus, calm and steady conditioning. It pairs naturally with Tai Chi and is sustainable at any age. The program is extensive and comprehensive: the basics are embedded in the Tai Chi curriculum and include Qigong Standing Postures, Wu Qin Xi (Five Animal Frolics) and Ba Duan Jin (Eight Pieces of Brocade), while more advanced work covers extensive breath work, Qi development and movement techniques, hard Qigong practices (Iron Shirt and Golden Bell), Yi Jin Jing, the Wu 108 Form, Hung Fut applications, the Iron Tendon and Buddha Palm forms and the Five Elements.
