Areas we serve

Serving Montgomery County

From our floor on Nicholson Court in Kensington, students come from across the North Bethesda corridor and the towns around it. Find your area below.

our home town

Kensington, MD

The school is on Nicholson Court in Kensington's western corner, in the White Flint corridor just off Nicholson Lane near Rockville Pike. Kensington families have been our base since we settled here.

North Bethesda, MD

No town is closer: we sit in the White Flint corridor, a short turn off Rockville Pike from Pike & Rose and the North Bethesda Metro. Students who work along the Pike walk out of the office and into class.

Rockville, MD

From Rockville Town Square it is a straight run down the Pike past Twinbrook to the Nicholson Lane light. Twinbrook and Montrose families are closer still, a few minutes down MD-355.

about 5 miles away

Bethesda, MD

Bethesda students come up Rockville Pike past NIH and Walter Reed, or Old Georgetown Road through Wildwood. Against downtown Bethesda's boutique studios, the draw here is a complete traditional system taught by a decades-deep instructor bench.

Chevy Chase, MD

Connecticut Avenue runs almost door to door, north from Chevy Chase Circle through Kensington to the Knowles Avenue turn. For families near Chevy Chase Lake and Friendship Heights, we are the nearest complete traditional Chinese martial arts school.

Silver Spring, MD

From downtown Silver Spring the clean route is the Beltway to the Rockville Pike exit; from Forest Glen and Woodside, Forest Glen Road across Georgia Avenue does it surface-street. Silver Spring has many storefronts, but only one living-grandmaster lineage school twenty minutes west.

Garrett Park, MD

Garrett Park is our nearest neighbor, under a mile out Strathmore Avenue and across the Pike. The whole town is a historic district of Victorian houses around a MARC stop, and our floor is a three-minute drive away.

Wheaton, MD

Wheaton is where the school began: Sifu Tai Yim opened his first U.S. Hung Fut school here in 1979. Veirs Mill Road covers the three miles in about ten minutes, so for Wheaton families training here is a homecoming.

Potomac, MD

From Potomac Village the run is Falls Road to Montrose Road, past Cabin John, onto the Pike a minute from Nicholson Lane. Potomac parents research an activity to death before committing, and our published lineage and named instructor bench hold up to it.

Washington, DC

Students travel up out of the District to train with us: Connecticut Avenue or Rock Creek Parkway north, across the line at Chevy Chase, then west onto Nicholson Lane. Red Line riders do it without a car at all, taking the train to North Bethesda.

across the American Legion Bridge

Northern Virginia

We draw students from the Virginia side of the river too, crossing the American Legion Bridge and coming up the Beltway to the Rockville Pike exits, then one turn onto Nicholson Lane. From McLean, Tysons and Arlington it is a straightforward run outside the rush, and the tie is an old one: Sifu Tai Yim opened a second Hung Fut school in Fairfax, Virginia in the late 1980s.

Gaithersburg, MD

Gaithersburg is the far edge of our regular draw: I-270 south to Montrose Road is about twenty minutes from Kentlands or Quince Orchard. Students make the drive for direct instruction in a complete 8-generation Southern Shaolin lineage.
