How We Train

Respect, tradition, dedication and legacy have been at the front of the teaching here since the school was founded over forty years ago.

The philosophy

8th Generation Grandmaster Sifu Tai Yim put respect, tradition, dedication and legacy at the front of his teaching, and that remains the core of the school he founded. The school has grown and developed over four decades while staying true to its foundational ideas, carrying the wisdom of the Hung Fut Grandmasters into modern times.

The 9th Generation Masters carry those values, the ancestral wisdom and the tradition of the Hung Fut style forward, so that the same standard reaches every student who walks onto the floor.

The rules of the school

The school teaches the twelve rules of the Shaolin Temple that every student of Hung Fut is asked to remember.

  • 01Never take advantage of woman, children, or others.
  • 05Never make decisions for the school without discussing them with the school. These decisions include demonstrations and participating in tournaments.
  • 06Never damage equipment or property of the school.
  • 07Never teach another without Sifu’s direct permission or practice techniques you have never been taught.
  • 08Never come to class unless you come for kung fu.

7 of the 12 are taught in class but are not recorded here yet. They will be added to this page, at their own numbers, as the school supplies them.
