Traditional Kung Fu in Wheaton
Traditional Kung Fu for Wheaton residents, about 3 miles away from our school in Kensington.
Looking for traditional kung fu in Wheaton? Shaolin Hung Fut Kung Fu School teaches traditional kung fu to Wheaton students of every age, about 3 miles away in Kensington — an easy trip from Wheaton Triangle and Westfield Wheaton. Train in person on Nicholson Court, starting with a one-hour introductory class.
Our traditional Kung Fu program teaches the complete Southern Shaolin Hung Fut system: handset forms, weapons forms, conditioning, and self-defense drawn from the Ten Animal Styles. Hung Fut was founded in the early eighteenth century by Wun Lei, born Lee Jo Fuen, who synthesised the Buddha Palm he created with the Hung Family boxing he learned from Hung Hei Gwaan. Students train at their own pace in that lineage, building strength, discipline and real technique.
A short trip from Wheaton
Wheaton is where the school began: Sifu Tai Yim opened his first U.S. Hung Fut school here in 1979. Veirs Mill Road covers the three miles in about ten minutes, so for Wheaton families training here is a homecoming.
From Wheaton the school is about 3 miles away, at 4961 Nicholson Court in Kensington. Each enrolled adult student also gets a full access membership to the 20,000 sq ft gym we are located in, at no additional cost.
